About the event
Join us for a lively and uplifting evening of tuba-powered music as the Scottish International Tuba Festival comes to a close. Enjoy performances by RSNO Principal Tuba and SITF tutor John Whitener, Besson Euphonium artist Chris Flynn, and our exciting guest artists Percussi Aeris and the genre-blending duo Dopey Monkey. The concert also features a set from the Tuba Improvisers, led by free improvisation specialist and SITF tutor Danielle Price, and a special appearance by the SITF Play Day Mass Tuba Ensemble—directed by Rebecca Whitener and made up of festival participants, tutors, and guest artists. Plus, don’t miss the world premiere of a brand new work by young Scottish composer Oliver Cairns, written especially for the festival.
Big sounds, bold music, and a brilliant way to end the day.
